Oh my God……….! If Susanthika gets the silver medal……..

………..there goes our tax, or tax money for those of you who are tax payers…….

(1) Felicitation ceremony to honour her…..

(2) National ceremony……….

(3) Cars, vans, Pajeros for the golden “queen”……….

(4) Demonstrations of love and affection shown to her on the road, increasing the traffic jam………….

Does Sri Lanka need this? Can we afford this? People are suffering in the country, and they prepare for mass celebrations on the road……….There is a war going on, educated people don’t have jobs, a child can’t get into a school, teachers who have done a far more yeomen service to the country than Susanthika could even think of are deprived of their eligible wages…………When will this nonsense come to an end?

The poor of the country are suffering without any food, she gets a Pajero………Soldiers are dying out there under the Northern sun………………she grumbles about not having proper food and facilities in America. People are living in temporary camps in the East and South………this woman complains of not having proper shoes.

Is she so shameless? She lost to a woman covering her whole body and head in accordance with her religion…….all she knows to do is become second or third, and grumble about bad athletic officials.

Look at those Kenyans and Ethiopians, they have virtually no comforts but continuously bring honour to their country……..they sacrifice all they have for their country………….and this woman berates on and on.

Someone has to teach this one a lesson………………

  2. Hmmm… I wonder if Kenyans and Ethiopians actually have selfless intentions behind their running careers. Have to give Susi some credit for brining home a medal though… don’t you think?

  3. Hm…records say that Sri Lanka has 2 Olympic medals, both in athletics. There are only 2 names[1]. Susanthika is one of them. Why don’t you try to beat that…

  4. this is really bullshit. Cant u see how our 100 of ministers are destroying this country . hey man, lots of your tax is spent for maintains these buggers and we gain nothing except misforturate. At least she brings honor to this motherland. And do u know that , our cricket player are paid by more than ten thousand of lacks per year. She is the only one who brought a meddle in Olympic game to this Sri lanka. So she should be honored and should be rescepected like that. and like that most of people are proud of her. Hats off for Susanthika. and you are regretting for offering a pajero to susanthika. how shamed ?? you bugger cant see that our 100 of ministers are using 1000 of luxury vehicles to destroy this count. Your idea is really bull shit man.

  5. I never said that ministers don’t get luxuries and cricketers aren’t paid, I am merely pointing out one example of the the way people try to waste money in Sri Lanka……….

  6. If I was to post all the ways our tax money is wasted, there would be many more examples and a very long……….post…….

  8. Most of you seem to have forgotten,

“All she knows to do is become second or third, and grumble about bad athletic officials.”, and

“And this woman berates on and on”, and

“She grumbles about not having proper food and facilities in America”,

“People are living in temporary camps in the East and South………this woman complains of not having proper shoes.”.

All these parts of my post clearly state, and is obvious to anyone (but not you’ll I guess) that Susanthika is an ungrateful woman if there ever was one, and that despite all the preferential treatment our mediocre athletic officials and her generous sponsors and wealthy well-wishers have given her, has the audacity to complain on and on.
I don’t know about you, but every time I hear her speak, all that comes out of her mouth is a boastful ego and complaints about conditions and shoes and facilities and so on………………

  9. And Mahinda………what ‘meddle’ did Susanthika bring from the Olympics……….?

    qraqq - October 11, 2007 at 8:48 am
  10. Qraqq,
You obviously seem to be writing with an overloaded hatred and jelaousy against Susanthika. Whatever said and done Susanthika has brought honour to the country that you could never even dream of in your life time, so it would be better if ‘qraqqs’ like you shut up.

Also note that other people may not share the extremely high eloquence thay you display therefore learn to have tolerance towards others who opposes your argument without making fun of their spellings.
If you can’t tolerate such remarks please remove the comments section on your blog altogether.

  11. How many times do I have to tell everybody that I’m not focusing on Susanthika, but merely pointing out an example of how people waste money in the country. I used Susanthika as an example not ONLY because people waste the country’s money on her, but also because she’s so ungrateful about it.

    qraqq - October 12, 2007 at 12:32 pm
  12. And savvy, thank you for,

“extremely high eloquence thay you display”

  13. Ah qraqqy, it must be terribly galling for you to find that your bitching and moaning and complaining isn’t falling on the ears of webizens inclined to trumpet your insight and wisdom to the high heavens.

What you must bear in mind is that if Susanthika is guilty of berating “on and on” about things like her shoes or her food or her facilities in America, she displays her difference from you, my dear qraqqy, in only three ways.

First, she’s complaining about something that directly affects her, and countless other athletes who have very little public influence. If Susanthika complains about her situation, chances are that the lot of the others will also improve eventually.

Second, unlike you, she actually has done something productive for the country. She put it on the map in terms of international recognition for non cricketing folk.

Third, no matter what has been said about her, no one has called her a sanctimonious hypocrite. Yes, there are people living in temporary camps in the north and east. But what are you, dear qraqqy, doing about them? Instead of bitching about someone else’s bitching, why don’t you get off your high pedestal and do something useful?

    kjdifu - October 12, 2007 at 7:28 pm
  14. What pedestal?

    qraqq - October 13, 2007 at 5:25 am
  15. “Trumpet your insight and wisdom to the high heavens.”

I didn’t start this blog so that people could do that.

And no, the fact that no one agrees with me is not galling at all. I appreciate the fact that people read my post and said what they felt whatever their feelings and thoughts may be.

    qraqq - October 13, 2007 at 5:29 am
  16. “Instead of bitching about someone else’s bitching, why don’t you get off your high pedestal and do something useful?”

You are no one to advise me on what do to do and what not to do.

Sri Lanka is a free country and I have the right to speech, to express my thoughts, and to bitch about anybody.

If no one agrees with me, then so be it, I don’t mind being the minority :-)
